Die Videoskulptur bradinnis ist die zweite ihrer Art aus einer Serie von hybriden Skulpturen aus
Fotografie und Video.

Die Fotografie einer Gletscherwand auf Island ist auf ein Trägermaterial kaschiert. Die fertige Form
des objektartigen Bildes an der Wand, wird angepasst an die mäanderne Form der Eisschichten.
Das Video, angefertigt aus Fotografien des Gletschers, wird an die Form der Fotografie angepasst
und auf sie projiziert - die beiden Techniken verschmelzen und die Struktur des Eises gerät in
Bewegung. Der Betrachter sieht die eigentlich starre Oberflächenstruktur in Kombination mit der
Projektionsebene, in der die Fläche zu zerfließen scheint.
Weit weg von jeglicher Narration verschwindet das Medium Video fast ganz bzw. löst sich in dem
Objekt auf und kann so vom Betrachter eher als Skulptur wahrgenommen werden.
Angespielt wird hier auf die Bewegung, die Gletscherformationen sonst über Jahren hinweg
vollziehen und dem Menschen visuell verborgen bleibt.

Die meditativ anmutende Ästhetik des Objekts erinnert daran, dass alles auf unserem Planeten
und im Universum in ständiger Bewegung ist und sich die unterschiedlichsten Dinge aller
Größenordnungen in einer Art Fluss befinden, auch wenn der Mensch diesen nicht immer wahrnehmen kann.

The video sculpture bradinnis is the second of its kind in a series of hybrid sculptures of Photography and Video.

The photograph of a glacierwall in Iceland is laminated onto a carrier material. The final form of the object-like image on the wall is adapted to the meandering shape of the ice layers. The video, made from photographs of the glacier, is adapted to the form of the photograph and projected onto them - the two techniques merge and the structure of the ice comes into beingMovement.

The viewer sees the actually rigid surface structure in combination with the projectionplane in which the surface appears to melt away.

Far away from any kind of narrative, the medium of video almost completely disappears or dissolves into the object. Therefore it could be perceived more as a sculpture by the viewer. What is alluded to here is the movement of glacier formations over the years wich usually remains visually hidden from people.

The meditative-looking aesthetic of the object is a reminder that everything on our planetand and the universe is in constant movement and the most diverse things of all orders of magnitude are in a kind of flow, even if humans can't always follow or perceive it.
